Art program

Program Outlines
The Art Program is part of the Recreation After-Six Activities offered in our school. It is a group instruction in Painting & Drawing, & Sculpting for beginners and for those who have experience. Small class sizes (6 students maximum) allow for individual attention and guidance for students at all levels. Lessons last 60 minutes and are grouped into terms that include 10 lessons as minimum amount to sign up.

The program is intended to help students develop their creativity, as well as the ability to communicate their understanding of the world around them through visual arts. Involment in the art-making activities that enable them to express personal feelings, experiences and ideas, generate visual ideas and develop the skills to use different art tools, materials, and techniques. Conducted by fully qualified instructors our young artist are exloring the main arts elements (line, shape and form, space, colour, texture, and value) and principles (contrast, repetition and rhythm, variety, emphasis, proportion, balance, unity and harmony).

Students become more familiar with main art elements and principles, learn about some of the diverse artistic practices, both traditional and contemporary, of a variety of cultures.The works of art to which students are exposed in the art classes represent various topics, themes,and styles (e.g., representational or realistic, stylized, Impressionist, abstract works) and different historical periods, including contemporary art by living artists, and conceptual and fine art, traditional art, and artifacts.
